The Bokken is a wooden sword.  We do not teach swordsmanship or kendo.  This tool is used to emphasize certain manners in which we punch.  It strengthens the punch and is just used as a training aide to that end.  By training with a Bokken you will develop strong forearms and the dermal redirection milking punch, as well as learn to put your body weight behind the punch.

In the first exercise, note this is a rather old, early 80's version with a maximum of 3 cuts per count.  There are additional cuts in later versions.  Typically we start with the 3 cut version and will add additional ones later.
